TVS-E printers maintain market leadership despite revenue drop in Q1’05 |
| |
|
| |
Chennai, July 25th 2005 – TVS Electronics
Limited (TVS-E) announced the results for the
quarter ended June 30th 2005 today.
Concentration on the entry level models in
printers and delay in deployment of POS
terminals by financial institutions led to a
drop in revenues which stood at Rs 53.28 Cr as
against Rs.70.91 Cr in the corresponding quarter
in 2004.
A change in the product-mix adversely affected
the realization which resulted in negative
Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs. 79 Lakhs.
TVS-E however sustained its leadership position
in the Dot Matrix Printer (DMP) segment in the
AMJ ’05 quarter with a market share of over 39%.
The Set Top Box (STB) business has already
gained momentum with the company having shipped
over 15000 nos. till date to both cable and
satellite customers.
Commenting on the occasion Mr. Gopal Srinivasan,
Director TVS Electronics Limited said “We are
continuing to face price pressure in our core
DMP business and efforts are in place to offset
this with cost improvement programs. We’ve made
significant progress in our new businesses in
the Digital Home Access, Telecom & PC components
area and I’m sure this will help the company
grow in the subsequent quarters”
TVS-E was awarded the “Most Trusted Company”
